The Teaching Quality Committee (TQC) is a College-level Committee, reporting directly to the association and has strategic oversight of matters relating to learning, teaching, and assessment at all levels of study and the enhancement of the student experience. The College Directors of Learning and Teaching meet before each Committee meeting to discuss and prioritize items relating to Learning, Teaching, and Assessment. To promote continuing dialogue between staff and students in the development and enhancement of the student learning experience, in partnership with the Faculty Learning, Teaching and Quality Committee and Staff/Student Liaison Committee(s), and including the identification and implementation of effective student engagement practice.

FUNCTION OF TEACHING QUALITY COMMITTEE
The College Education Committee will:
1. Contribute to setting the educational strategy and priorities for the College;
2. Facilitate the achievement of the University’s strategic plan and College targets relating to education;
3. Develop a profile of courses that is viable, high quality, and meet the needs of its stakeholders including students and professional accreditation bodies;
4. Monitor the effective delivery of educational programs across the College;
5. Develop mechanisms to promote and extend excellence in teaching by College academic staff;
6. Develop and implement strategies to achieve load targets, including international, domestic, and Indigenous student load targets;
7. Develop and implement strategies in internationalization, consistent with the University’s Strategic Plan and objectives;
8. Develop and monitor the College’s educational quality assurance and improvement processes;
9. Approve course and topic changes as outlined in the University’s policies and procedures;
10. Liaise with and assist where possible with the work of the Student Life Project to develop and implement strategies aimed at improving student success;
11. Liaise with and assist where possible the work of the College Learning and Teaching Academy to support innovation and development in learning and teaching;
12. Exercise all other authorities delegated to it as detailed in the University’s delegations register
The College Education Committee may
1. Establish sub-committees or working parties to advise it on any matters within its terms of reference; and
2. Delegate its powers and responsibilities to a sub-committee or any officer of the College, where the instrument (e.g. University policy or procedure) allows it
