Discipline Committee

Introduction

  1. The Rai Saheb Bhanwar Singh College, Discipline Cell is established according to the regulations of the UGC. The Cell’s responsibility is to ensure that students maintain discipline in the classrooms and on the college campus. The Committee is created to resolve complaints of alleged violations of policies and community standards by a student or former student. The Committee holds the power to hear cases and solve them with appropriate action including expulsion and revocation of degree. The members of the committee ensure that the students attend classes regularly and behave in a disciplined manner on campus. The committee comprises senior teachers and senior student representatives.

Functions

The Disciplinary Committee will look into the following functions under the guidance of the undersigned:-

  • 1. To serve as a model in terms of character training and behavior for students.
  • 2. To assist the students in conforming to college rules and regulations.
  • 3. To help students develop self-discipline.
  • 4. To administer consequences commensurate with the offense committed by any student.
  • 5. To frame new college rules and regulations in consultation with the undersigned for the student’s behavioral aspect.
  • 6. To promote and encourage good behavior among the teachers and students.
  • 7. To create an environment that is conducive to peaceful and harmonious co-existence of staff & students.

Specific Rules for Student Discipline

  1. 1. Students are expected to use only polite language and behave with decorum with the faculty members and the staff of the College.
  2. 2. Students shall avoid using any insulting, inciting, or threatening language when talking with fellow students and should abstain from violence.
  3. 3. Students shall not talk or act in any manner outside the institution in a way that would bring disrepute to the College.
  4. 4. Students shall be regular and punctual in attending classes and all activities connected with the College.
  5. 5. Gathering in groups at roads, entrances, exits, and garden areas is strictly prohibited.
  6. 6. Students shall observe strict silence in the class irrespective of the presence of faculty members.
  7. 7. No student is permitted to leave the classroom during lecture hours.
  8. 8. Students should not leave the class or attend it late under the pretext of paying fees, visiting the library, etc.
  9. 9. All vehicles should be parked in the allotted place.
  10. 10. While attending College functions, the students will conduct themselves in such a way as to bring credit to themselves and to the institution.
  11. 11. Spitting, smoking, and throwing bits of paper inside the college campus must be avoided.
  12. 12. Students are forbidden from entering the college office and the staff rooms during unspecified hours.
  13. 13. Students if found damaging the building or other property of the College in any way. The cost of damage so caused will be recovered from the students collectively if the responsibility for it cannot be fixed on any individual or group of individuals.
  14. 14. No meeting/function of any kind shall be held on the College premises without the written permission of the Principal.
  15. 15. No notice of any kind shall be circulated among students or displayed on blackboards or on notice boards without the written permission of the Principal. 
  16. 16. No information or report should be sent to press or broadcasting agencies without the permission and approval of the Principal.
  17. 17. The Principal will deal strictly with students who play a leading part, by organizing or assisting, in strikes.
  18. 18. The students are expected to take up all assignments, tests, and examinations of the College/University seriously and would try to perform the best.
  19. 19. Students shall come clean, tidy, and modestly dressed in College Uniform. Students not in College Uniform would be marked as absent for that particular day. 
  20. 20. Use of mobile phones within the College campus is strictly banned. Violation of this rule by any student would result in impounding of the Cell phone and strict disciplinary action against the student.
  21. 21. Each Student should always carry a valid College Identity Card.
