Introduction

The women’s Empowerment cell is active in the college since 2013 -14 to empower female students, enhance their understanding of issues related to women, and make the college campus a safe place for female students and faculty members. With a view of taking up women’s issues and problems, the cell aims to grate awareness of their rights and duties. 

It also provides a platform for women to share their experiences and views regarding their status in society and to suggest ways to improve and empower themselves. Aiming at intellectual and social upliftment for female students, the cell stands for facilitating women’s empowerment through guest lectures, seminars, awareness programs, self-defense training program, and other welfare activities. The responsibilities of the Women Empowerment Cell are to follow the Mandatory Guidelines and directions of the B.U. Bhopal, regarding the security arrangements for female Students and staff of our Institution.

OBJECTIVES

  • 1.  To promote a culture of respect and equality for the female gender.
  • 2.  To conduct the seminar, and workshop to impart knowledge of opportunities and tools available and train the women.
  • 3.  To create a conducive counseling environment for the female gender to share their problems.

INITIATIVES

Educating the teaching and non-teaching staff and students towards gender sensitization.

COUNSELING SERVICES

Provision of opportunities and programs for the female gender to be mentally and emotionally empowered so as to promote their growth as individuals in their own right.Conducting various competitions to encourage their artistic talents for creative thinking.

INSTRUCTION TO THE STUDENTS:

  1. 1.  A proper dress code should be followed.
  2. 2.  Body-fit clothing and transparent or revealing outfits should be avoided.
  3. 3.  Salwar kameez with a dupatta is advisable for girls.
  4. 4.  Harassment of any nature should be reported to the higher authorities for inquiry

The 24-hour helpline desk made available for teaching and non-teaching staff and students can be utilized for reporting any untoward incidents which cause physical/mental anguish.
