The National Service Scheme (NSS) and the National Cadet Corps (NCC) are both programs that involve students in community service and other activities:
National Service Scheme (NSS)
A government-funded program that aims to develop students' personalities through community service. The program's motto is "Not Me But You". NSS activities include community work, camping, tree planting, blood donation, and more. NSS volunteers are required to complete a minimum number of hours of service each year, and upon completion they receive a certificate.
National Cadet Corps (NCC)
An organization that provides training for cadets. The training syllabus for Junior Division Cadets is two years long, and for Senior Division Cadets it is three years long. The syllabus is similar for both boys and girls, with minor variations.
