Electrical Cell

INTRODUCTION

The college has an Electrical cell (committee) that is in charge of maintaining and repairing the electrical equipment, devices, and electrical gadgets and providing uninterrupted power supply on the college campus.

College has appointed an electrician who maintains electrical equipment and the electricity supply system. Electrical maintenance covers all aspects of testing, monitoring, fixing, and replacement of electrical components/systems. The maintenance is carried out by an accredited electrical engineer who has knowledge of the National Electric Code and native regulations.

Function

1. To ensure the availability of electricity on the campus.
2. To have a procedure to maintain water and electric equipment.
3. To ensure timely availability of medical facilities and first aid kits.
4. To maintain academic buildings, hostels, guest house facilities, and the campus.
5. To ensure the safety of buildings through fire extinguishers, earthing pits, safety checks of potable water, etc.

Responsibilities

1. Chairman – To give consent for procurement of necessary equipment/maintenance items and approval of necessary labour.

2. Co-ordinator – To carry out safety checks, cleanliness, medical facilities, and availability of water on the campus.
3. Member – To ensure uninterrupted power supply, carry out electrical maintenance activity, maintenance of generator & UPS, earth pits, etc.

Functions of Electricity Cell

1. To ensure the availability of electricity on the campus.
2. To have a procedure to maintain electrical equipment.
3. To create general electrical safety awareness among students.
