COMPUTER LABORATORY

INTRODUCTION

Rai Saheb Bhanwar Singh College offers an ultra-modern highly equipped computer laboratory with advanced state-of-the-art equipment. With the emergence of Information Technology in India, the want for computer-savvy experts is being felt even in the legal world. As knowledge and research sources are shifting from conventional libraries to computer labs, every college needs to provide students with the best possible facilities. The Laboratory of Computer Science in rai Saheb Bhanwar Singh College comprises a well-equipped laboratory and is maintained with around 75 computers, Five printers, Three Photocopy Machine, two scanners, DVD/CD-Writers, 5 Interactive Flat Panel Multimedia Board, 5 LCD Projector, Working models, UPS for Uninterrupted Power supply, etc.

We have got broadband Internet connection along with networking of all the systems through LAN. We encourage our students to make maximum use of multimedia presentations in their teaching. Students can surf the internet anytime during college hours. All are the backbone of our infrastructure, a central control room, audiovisual projection facilities, and a central data archiving center. As a part of Rai Saheb Bhanwar Singh College’s pursuit to be technologically in sync with the times.

STRATEGIES FOR DEPLOYING AND UPGRADING THE IT INFRASTRUCTURE AND RELATED FACILITIES

  • 1.  ICT-enabled classrooms have been introduced for enriching the teaching and learning process.
  • 2.  More hardware and software are added to cater to the needs of the students and staff.
  • 3.  Every department has an Internet facility to speed up the activities like browsing and research.
  • 4.  Interactive boards, Digital visualizer, Digital slate, etc. have been added to upgrade the IT infrastructure facilities.
  • 5.  The computers in the lab are well configured and suitable for the use of design software by the users for Architecture. These computers are upgraded as per the need of the university syllabus and the software version change.
  • 6.  The computer and related electronic equipment are tested and maintained with a scheduled frequency to keep the facility up and running.
  • 7.  Every three months all the computers and related equipment are cleaned with the appropriate blower and tools. The inventory of the products is done to check and update the deadstock.

 

Institutions facilitate extensive use of ICT resources including the development and use of computer-aided teaching learning materials by its staff and students.

COMPUTER LAB RULES

  1. Silence and orderly conduct are expected of everyone using the lab/s. Hence, they should only haveProfessional/muted communication in the Lab/s.
  2. Keep the Lab/s spick and span, neat and tidy.
  3. No obnoxious or belligerent behavior will be tolerated.
  4. Students should leave their footwear outside the Lab/s.
  5. Students are not allowed to use the computers for gaming.
  6. Operate the computer/s with respect and care, and caution must be exercised in handling the electrical fittings and gadgets therein.
  7. Use the Lab/s only for academic requirements. Misuse of the computer/s and/or the Internet facility provided in absolutely forbidden.
  8. No student or Staff is allowed to connect an external UBS device/infected Pen Drive to the computers in the Lab/s.
  9. Damage to the Computer/s and to the accessories have to be reported to the Instructor/College Authorities, and the value of the damaged items have to be made good by the party concerned.
  10. Report any hard/software problem to the Instructor/Lab. Aids.
  11. Behaviors and activities in the Lab(s) that are considered by the Lab Aides/Instructor to be abusive to the software, hardware, and\or to the personnel present there may result in the expulsion of the offender/s from the Lab(s) and the denial of Lab privileges in the future.
  12. Refrain from downloading objectional materials from the Internet.
  13. Log out and shut down the Computer/s, when one leaves the Lab.
  14. Excessive use of paper and materials may require reimbursement to the Lab. Discarded paper should be placed in a Recycle Bin.
  15. Software may be installed only by authorized College personnel. Do not install any software on your own.
  16. Files saved/stored by students will be routinely removed from the Computers by the Instructor/Lab Staff.
  17. Do not modify any software or files. Do not overwrite, or modify the Operating System or modify any other system parameters.
  18. For any hardware, software, printer, paper, or ink problems contact the Instructor/Lab Aids.
  19. College policy requires compliance with all Intellectual Property Laws. Copying software without appropriate authorization violates the Law.
  20. Illegal use of materials in the Lab/s is a ground for denial of the use of the Lab/s in the future, and the confiscation of such materials
  21. Printing of web site images and pages must be for academic purposes only.
  22. Failure to follow the Lab Rules shall result in the loss of one’s Lab privileges, and/or invite other disciplinary action/s:
