Zoology

Introduction

A zoology course was established at Rai Saheb Bhanwar Singh College in the year 2002 where 160 seats have been allotted to the college by higher education. We visit Different places every year like Laboratory visits, project work, Internship work, etc. Zoology subject is opted by the student as a Minor, Major and elective subject as per NEP 2020. Zoology students can also study various subjects like Microbiology, Botany, Biotechnology, and Chemistry.

Zoology is the branch of Biology that deals with the study of animals in the aspect of their life, Habits, Habitat, and structure of the body. It also deals with the study of Development, classification, Behavior, Ecology, similarities with other animals, their population, and relation with the Environment, Biodiversity, Adaptation, etc.

OBJECTIVES

To train students in a wide range of science-based skills that provide the learning base for future careers in disciplines such as the study of the animal kingdom including the classification, structure, distribution, development, heredity, embryology, ecosystem, habits, extinct species and evolution of all animals.

Branches of Zoology –

Morphology, Histology, Cell Biology, Embryology, Paleontology, Pathology, Taxonomy, Genetics, Evolution, Ecology, Ornithology, Animal behavior.

Career Scope

There are numerous career opportunities for candidates completing their BSc, MSc, and Ph.D. in Zoology in the public and private sectors. Candidates find jobs as Animal Behaviorists, conservationists, Wildlife biologists, Zoo curators, Wildlife educators, Zoology faculty, Forensic experts, lab technicians, and Veterinarians. After completing the B.Sc., Zoology there is an option for Postgraduate Degree, Diploma, and Certificate course in Zoology and Applied Zoology.
